The Rob Hadaway Storytelling Festival provides an accessible, enriching program for children to experience a unique art form. Our goals for The Rob Hadaway Storytelling Festival are for children to: - discover new things about themselves and the world around them - try out their passions, test their own abilities, and explore the art of storytelling - turn imagination into learning - promote brain development and imagination, develop language and emotions, and strengthen relationships through the art of storytelling Additionally, we have the goals of: - providing arts access to underserved communities - increasing visibility of the museum and commitment to the arts - providing support to local artists while they enrich the vibrant art culture in our community The Duluth Children's Museum employs several methods of evaluating impact, including attendance tracking, feedback from visitors, interviews with volunteers and partners, and staff observations of activity and impact. Specific areas of impact that will be measured include: - Increases in attendance and membership, and positive reviews. - Observing caring adults experiencing something new and engaging in learning and sharing memorable moments with their children. - Observing children learning something new, being engaged and challenged, creating memorable experiences, feeling welcome and accepted, noticing, wondering, and exploring the world, understanding feelings, ideas, and perspectives, and being open to an expanding world.
