ACHF Arts Access
The goal of this project is for diverse public participants to learn new creative skills through working with their hands. Our primary, measurable outcome is to have at least 5 participants for each workshop with the goal of engaging 10-15 per event. Engagement, for us, means active, hands-on participation for the duration of the event. Demonstrations will be concise and minimal, so participants have as much time as possible to learn by doing. People will be folded into one or more of our many ongoing projects in the shop and learn new skills with traditional technologies, as well as honing creative skills they already possess. We have a large contact list of individuals and community partners which we will use to get the word out about these workshop opportunities. Quantitative and qualitative information will be gathered through observation. The number of participants at each workshop will be counted and recorded. The quality of those participants engagement will be kept track off during the event and made note of at the end. High quality participant will be gauged by active participation and ability to learn a skill and then share that knowledge with another participant. This will be continually accessed in real-time by the organizing educators throughout each workshop.
