Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

This project will provide an educational experience for local dance students through exposure to ballet - a form of dance they have not been trained in. Extended families of all the students will delight in seeing them performing as they recognize the hard work and commitment of their children. We also feel it will enhance the lives of our residents by exposing them to an art form that the vast majority has never witnessed. Through this experience, we hope that they may access ballet and other dance performances through other means. Each audience member may take away a different experience that they can share and discuss with others in social and family settings, learning that dance can tell a story. We will use the Q and A's to gather feedback on what the audience has learned from their questions and gauge what students have learned by their answers. We will also track inquiries from people to signup for classes at our local dance studio; follow facebook comments by the public following the performance and list the requests from educators and the general public to provide another experience like this in the future. We'll also ask the local students to tell us what being involved in this experience meant to them.
