Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Our community has many arts programs for youth and a community choir for adults, but instrumental opportunities for adults are missing. This project should bridge that gap by having both youth and adult participants. Members of the community who have not played their instrument in years can still participate and these sessions would be able for them to restart their abilities on an instrument. This project should also help change the attitudes towards music and the arts in our community. The goal is to reaffirm the mentality that playing an instrument is something you can do for your entire life and identify community members who would want to participate in a future permanent community band. We plan to gather feedback at the end of the sessions to gauge interest in continuing the ensemble and in what form and time commitment would be best suitable for the growth of instrumental music in our community.
