ACHF Arts Access
For many audience members, WASO performances are the only opportunity to experience live orchestral music. We continue to grow in scope and ability. The 2024-25 season has a wide range of music for the orchestra and audience to experience. Each time musicians play music that is new to them, they learn and grow. Both concerts have familiar favorites and standard orchestral music, and some less familiar music. Playing music from both opens the musicians and our audiences to new musical experiences and allows us to showcase composers who haven't always been performed, such as women composers, young American composers, and composers of color. At each concert we will count our audience and gather audience evaluations through surveys. Audience feedback in the survey will also let us know how they heard about our concert and how well it was received, indicating how likely they will be to help grow our audience. Included in the surveys are suggestions from the audience as to what they would like to hear in the future, to better help us connect with the audience. The board also takes feedback from playing members following each concert and uses that feedback for discussion at board meetings.
