ACHF Arts Access
Pride of place and visual representation of care of people and place is a hugely undervalued driving force of thriving communities. Through soliciting community feedback over the last year, the request for a mural at the Main Street level (in this town that is truly blossoming with a diversity of art and art forms) has become a clearly underlined ask. As our motto is "building community through art," it seemed appropriate to meet that ask in a clear and respectful manner. We believe visibly meeting a common ask will not only demonstrate care in listening and responding to active community requests, but the visible and colorful addition to our Main Street will further signal to residents and guests alike how much care and pride we have for and with our community. At the opening event, we'll have feedback forms available physically and digitally (and may be able to have a volunteer dressed up specifically to encourage participation in that feedback, including in asking for other suggestions or asks that the Arts Council can meet in serving our community). We are also finding the more openly we ask verbally for feedback in everyday conversation, the more open others are over time in sharing their true thoughts
