Dances on the Lakewalk is as much of an artistic outlet and pride of the community as it is a passion for the artist. Bringing dance to public spaces through the creation of environmental and site-specific works continues to be the process. The success of Dances on the Lakewalk depends on all who offer their generous creativity to the event. This event continues to encourage choreographers and dancers in all stages of their careers to participate and continues to open doors for dancers and choreographers to become involved in other areas of the Duluth dance scene. Dances on the Lakewalk has brought together choreographers and dancers working in the Duluth community who had never crossed paths. This event has contributed to the growth of dance opportunities in Duluth evident by the increased number of choreographers participating from the early years to today. A new generation of dancers have embraced Dances on the Lakewalk and their creativity is the future success of this event. We will again provide the audience an opportunity to give feedback as we did in 2022. The survey will be available online. Here are some of the responses we received that support the continuation of Dances on the Lakewalk: Beautiful choreography, engaging music and amazing dancers. Clogging/tap was fun! I liked the variation of the dances, some were uplifting and fun and some were thoughtful and contemplative. It is part of a glorious Duluth summer. Loved that there were 2 locations and it was a roving show. The community feel, wide variety of dance styles, ages, and bodies Mesmerizing. Worth the drive in. One of nicest events in Duluth.
