Art Project

The goal of this project is a successful collaboration with another community performing group, resulting in high-quality performances of this classic work. These are measurable outcomes: 1. The orchestra will perform with well-balanced string sections and a full complement of wind instruments. 2. Audience members will benefit from hearing beautiful, comforting music in their own communities. 3. The collaboration will lead to greater support for the performing arts and benefit both organizations by exposing their work to a wider audience. Outcome 1 will be met if MSO is able to fill all of its 11 paid principal positions, and perform with no more than four additional musicians hired to fill holes. Outcome 2 will be met if audience response is positive. MSO will make audience survey forms available at each performance, asking for feedback concerning the quality of the performance and input about how to make the experience more enjoyable. Outcome 3 will be met if audience attendance exceeds recent experience for both groups.
