We are trying to build collective power to make social change for women and gender expansive people. We want to center that work in a foundation of joy and celebration for who we are and the uniqueness we bring to the community. The Gender Joy Art Show will provide an opportunity for all ages to participate in this collective work whether or not they attend the Gender Equity Summit. Gender Joy will also provide an opportunity to be creative and to examine our work from a different lens and perspective. We believe creativity and the arts are an essential part of community organizing and social action. We aim to accomplish the following: - At least 50 youth and adult artists will participate, with a third being unknown artists - 90% of artists and Gender Joy attendees will express that the show was accessible for their participation - 90% of artists and Gender Joy attendees will express that the show met its mission of promoting gender joy We will know our project was successful if the feedback we receive from artists and attendees is positive. We will collect feedback in the form of surveys at the event and after from artists and attendees of the Gender Equity Summit and Gender Joy art show. We are using last year's feedback as we plan this year's Gender Joy art show, and we will use this year's feedback to inform future offerings. We expect that, based upon surveys/feedback after the art show: - Artists will express that the show was accessible for their participation. - Artists will express that the show met its mission of promoting gender joy - Community members/summit goers will express that the show met its mission of promoting gender joy - Community members/Summit-goers will express that the show was accessible for their participation - Both artists and community members will express wanting the show to be an annual part of the Gender Equity Summit
