ACHF Arts Access
We are looking to build up a summer theater program that gets the community excited about participation in arts projects. We feel we'll be able to tackle youth theater first, build momentum, and branch into a broader community program. Confidence, cooperation, grit, responsibility, and increased academics are skills that students gain through their participation in theatre. We are excited to keep building a summer program that will give our younger students a worthy experience and feed students into the high school theatre program. The performances will be highly visible as part of the town's annual celebration, and it gives us a nice window to drum up interest in our future ideas and the overall vision of the KAC. Alison Nelson will gather feedback from participants through on-on-one conversations during rehearsals. We will also have the participants and parents complete the attached survey following the performances. Success will be measured in positive remarks on those surveys, retention and attraction of new participants, as well as audience attendance and reviews.
It has worked extremely well to hold our event at the tail end of Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant performances as the Amphitheater is set up for a larger event and there is less ground work to be done. We did not see an increase in attendees by having a two-day event, so the planning committee has decided to go back to a one day in 2023. We can confidently say this Festival provided an outstanding opportunity to increase awareness of Bluegrass/Folk/Americana music in this region. The seven incredible musical groups encouraged people to look forward to another event in 2023. Approximately 20 Festival attendees sat with the musicians of the High 48's for a Jam Camp and learned how to lead or participate in a jam.
