As Arts programming continue to be eliminated from school curriculum youth are finding it more difficult to find a place to belong, to find success, to be creative with supportive instruction and guidance. There are many youth that are not competitive in organized programs, the arts provide an option/outlet for them. For DEMO inc it will expand our programming awareness/availability and hopefully develop new partnerships for our programs We will measure changes by the number of participants served during the months of the grant duration. We will include a brief class beginning and ending survey of participants to assess awareness of the art areas, previous experience, and rating of curriculum and teacher/arts knowledge and skills. Direct observation and conversation with organizers and instructors will be tools to measure effectiveness of programming. Questionnaires will be available at our public events and at individual programs, collecting and collating data.
Each artist had average of 488 visitors and an average of $3,412 in sales. Attendees visited an average of 12 studios, and a large majority rated the quality of the art and overall experience as excellent, up significantly from the year before. 63% of visitors came from outside our 5-county area, expanding our reach. An average of $90 per visitor was spent in our communities in addition to art purchases.
