ACHF Arts Access
Outcome 1: Audiences will have access to the arts by a reduction in geography and physical barriers, since participating artists are based throughout the state. Recorded gallery talks on the local public access station will give those unable to visit the exhibition/reception access to the experience. Transit tokens will be provided for local individuals with personal transportation barriers. Outcome 2: Audiences will expand their knowledge of MN artists and art methodologies. Becoming more familiar with the artists and their processes will aid in expanding audience understanding of others experiences and expand capacity for empathy. Experiencing the process of education and meeting artists will inspire future engagement in the arts. Outcome 1: We will evaluate and measure the above outcome by counting gallery visitors, tracking the number of views of the recorded program on YouTube, and tracking the number of transit tokens distributed. Success of this outcome will be demonstrated by a 15% increase use in reception attendance, viewership, and token use over the previous year. Outcome 2: Interactive surveys at the exhibit will ask viewers to select from several response choices that are representative of their experience of the exhibit and venue. Anecdotal feedback will be recorded in the exhibition guest log which invites guests to sign their name and leave feedback. We will look for a majority (51% and above) of positive responses for survey responses related to feeling more empathetic, informed, and likely to return within the year.
All of the exhibiting artists had a positive experience and felt they would exhibit at the gallery again and would recommend it to other artists and peers. All of the artists felt that exhibiting at the Center allowed them to progress in their careers and they were able to make new work for the exhibits. We noticed an approximate 30% increase in the number of visitors. Nearly 100% said they would return for another exhibit. Most visitors felt they learned something new, were inspired, or left feeling curious. A majority of our viewers were from our region, and this program increased their access to the arts by removing any geographical or physical barriers. We anticipated an overall positive response based on previous years' feedback and are happy with the results of our program.
