Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

“Regional residents experience a change in knowledge, attitude, behavior or condition due to public art, arts festivals or arts events.” It is anticipated that a number of the participants will have limited knowledge that public readings of poetry and fiction are taking place. Or, have not considered taking in one the community theater presentations. Connecting with the written art form in the sharing and telling of their personal story may generate interest in other story presentations. “The capacity of those providing arts experiences is increased or strengthened by changing, expanding, or enriching the ways in which they connect to their communities through the arts.” For the artist this is a way to connect her with a senior population that is still living well and independently in their own home; and is willing and able to share their stories. “Regional artists connect to new audiences and/or build relationships that provide artistic growth.” This project will bring together a young artist and an older audience. Hopefully, it will lead to new opportunities for inter-generational interaction. As standard procedure, COMPAS will administer on online survey to the artist and program site after the residency is completed.
