Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

DoPT will be able to provide specific and experienced advice, as well as tangible resources, that communities and municipalities need to advocate for, organize, and consider implementing the Small Town CAIR model in intentional and sustainable ways. Granite Falls will become an expert case study in the power of collaborative work that's driven by a community's articulated needs. DoPT will continue to nourish the positive feedback loop of hearing a community's voices with equity, supporting practicing artists, and developing creative solutions to complex, long-standing challenges. City Government staff (and other key stakeholders) will have the resources and enthusiasm they need to advocate for arts and culture engagement in many different aspects of civic life, decision making, and problem solving. Through informal and formal conversations, our key stakeholders and partners will report feeling excited about and successful in finding sustainable solutions to continue the program. We will launch a sustainably scaled CAIR residency that can be replicated by the City of Granite Falls and other communities in our region. We will receive increased inquiries from local municipalities about how to start their own Small Town CAIR program.

Measurable Outcome(s)

DoPT has continued to provide specific and experienced advice, as well as tangible resources, that communities and municipalities need to advocate for, organize, and consider implementing various forms of Civic Arts. City Government staff (and other key stakeholders) have continued to build the resources and enthusiasm they need to advocate for arts & culture engagement, as evidenced by the City?s partnership in the next version of the program. Through informal and formal conversations, our key stakeholders and partners identified next steps toward sustainability of a Granite Falls Community Artist in Residence project, and a plan to continue the program with a different structure as implemented by a local community partner. We have received increased inquiries from municipalities about how to engage with various forms of Civic Arts in their own communities.
