Project Overview

This project will improve water quality in Bavaria, Grace, Jonathan, Waconia and Hazeltine Lakes and West Chaska Creek in Carver County. Sediment and phosphorus loading to these waterbodies will be accomplished by: 1) retrofitting stormwater pipes with water quality treatment devices, 2) modifying stormwater ponds and installing iron-enhanced sand filters, and 3) stream restoration efforts to re-meander approximately 1,100 linear feet of a ditched segment of West Chaska Creek. This project is funded through the Carver County allocation of the Watershed-Based Funding Pilot Program for the Seven County Metropolitan Area.
