2019 - Watershed Based Funding Metro (Bassett Creek WMC)
The project will improve the water quality of Bassett Creek by addressing a significant flooding issue and will restore 1.7 acres of wetland and 1 acre of upland habitat. The project will create a sediment forebay, remove accumulated sediment, and expand the footprint of existing stormwater ponds in the City of Golden Valley. The result will be approximately 22 acre-feet of additional flood storage and the removal of an estimated 9 pounds of phosphorus per year. This project is funded through the Hennepin County allocation of the Watershed-Based Funding Pilot Program for the Seven County Metropolitan Area.
