Rochester STEM Academy will collaborate with spoken word poet Frank Sentwali and videographer Mike Hazard to produce stories and poems that explore the immigrant experience.

Students will demonstrate increased ability and confidence in the English language arts, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will be evaluated by the artist with rubrics aligned to state language arts standards. Student portfolios will be evaluated by the teacher. Results of student surveys will also be compiled. 2: Students will learn the media arts skills involved in producing video stories. Students will be evaluated by the artist with rubrics aligned to state standards for media arts. Results of student surveys will also be compiled.
