117 low-income, underserved youth participated in theater, visual arts and book arts. Numbers of students, classes, performances, and hours were tracked. 2: 86% of 117 youth increased their engagement in learning, in part due to new arts experiences. Youth engagement in learning was measured using the SAYO (Survey of Afterschool Youth Outcomes), a researched and validated tool developed at the National Institute for Out of School Time at Wellesley College.
