Project Overview

The Marine on St. Croix Innovative Stormwater Management Implementation is a partnership, formalized through an MOU, between Marine on St. Croix (MOSC) and the Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District (CMSCWD) to improve stormwater management in the most densely developed areas of the City on a neighborhood zone approach rather than site-by-site (parcel) approach for greater and more impactful results in accomplishing District and City stormwater management goals. This grant will facilitate the design and construction of a series of water quality improvements including 18 rain gardens, 1 bio filtration basin, and 1 sand iron filter on City right-of-ways or property in Marine on St. Croix.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Through the installation of proposed practices, this project has resulted in an estimated annual reduction of 13 lbs of phosphorus, 4 tons of sediment, and 2 acre-feet of surface water runoff.
