The artist will create and showcase a new collection of work and present it at a launch event that will be open to the public. A successful outcome will be evaluated by the showcase of completed work and the attendance of the community. 2: The artist will take time to learn about and experiment with new materials and techniques, taking guidance from other makers. Actual outcome of the project was the successful completion of a new body of work and a public showcase that encouraged community interaction and conversation. Evaluation of project achievement is based on completion and showcase of a new body of work as well as the actual attendance of community members at the opening party at Forage Modern Workshop. 2: The actual outcome of this project is a new body of work that is experimental in material use and fabrication techniques. The new body of work was displayed in a showcase that encouraged community interaction and conversation. Final showcase of the new body of work solidified the successful completion of grant work. The new body of work included a chair, coffee table, credenza, wall hung shelf and small home products. While this work was completed during various times of the grant year, the final showcase was the first display of the entire collection. As can be seen from the work, the designs were innovative and experimental- they explored new ideas and processes and through final exhibition and discussion with showcase attendees were interesting and informed.
