Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Work collaboratively with colleagues to gain their feedback and learn new technical skills in a medium I am not familiar with. The successful publication of my book and ability to share it with students and the public will be a tangible evaluation of whether or not I was able to incorporate feedback, expand my artistic abilities and learn new technical skills. 2: Create a book and distribute, market, and do self-promotion with the book to further my artistic career. The successful publication and distribution (donation and sales) of my book will show that I was able to develop business skills needed to support my professional career through self-promotion.

Measurable Outcome(s)

I was able to get feedback through studio visits from colleagues in the photography community, and learned a lot about the skill sets required for creating a book of photographs. These learning opportunities came through engagement with graphic designers, pre-press operators, and local vendors. The book was published as run of 250 copies. 2: I brought copies of my book to the 2014 SPE National Conference, was able to sell, trade, and donate copies to book wholesalers, other artists, and have it reviewed by other professionals in my field at a national venue. From this my book was picked up for sale via two separate outlets (one in Spain, and one in Georgia). I was also able to get listed in the Indie Photobook Library collection, The University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and Studio Marangoni in Florence, Italy.
