Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Artists and arts organizations build relationships with members of, or organizations that serve, groups that have traditionally been underserved by the arts or by the applicant organization.Anecdotal responses, contacts made, relationships built, ideas generated.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The Rural Arts and Culture Summit was again an excellent opportunity to interact with others in the arts world in western Minnesota, to be inspired by speakers with great success stories and to take the time to think about new ideas. I particularly enjoyed hearing speakers from other rural communities like the western Wisconsin Art/Farm D-Tour. John Davis: Your audience is everyone. Take away people's reasons to say NO. Thinking regionally. Start Small: One block, One building, One street. Donna Neuwirth: Culture+Agriculture. Frame beautiful rural/agriculture scenes with farm implement components. Anne Katz: Think in terms of economic development vs art project. Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. I intended to share the information gained from the summit with our Dawson Boyd Arts Association board of directors as we think about future projects and about working with new partners in our community and region. Though some of the speakers weren't from small towns they had inspiring projects to share."
