Goals of this project include: a. To present two brass ensemble concerts in the 2013-2014 season that will introduce brass ensemble music to student, adult and senior audiences through professional performances b. To provide an opportunity for adult musicians to perform in a community brass ensemble c. To offer students the experience of working with professional brass musiciansGoals will be measured as follows: a. Audience attendance at each of the brass ensemble concerts will provide measurable response. Audience surveys will provide comments and reactions to the performances. b. Participation by adults in the community brass ensemble will indicate their response to the residency. Pre-and-post-residency feedback from community musicians will be gathered. c. Student brass players and their band teacher (a tuba player!) will provide feedback after the residency and concert are complete.
This project had three goals: to present two brass concerts in the 2013-2014 season, to provide an opportunity for student musicians to work with professional brass musicians, to provide an opportunity for community musicians to work with professional musicians. All of these were accomplished through the work of this residency and the two brass concerts. Attendance at the public concerts was disappointing, but the other components were very satisfactory.
