Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The specific outcome is twofold: mechanical improvement in pitch, rhythm, breath control and diction and artistic/cultural improvement. Achievable, because Dr. Speckhard is an experienced and widely respected voice teacher at Saint John's University/College of Saint Benedict's and the MacPhail School. It will be measured by pre/post workshop tests. Realistically, we expect the music teachers/choir directors in the schools and communities to inform us of progress with their students/members in addition to the results of the testing.Pre and post workshop tests will be administered that will both test the mechanical aspects of singing and the cultural aspects of the many genres to which the workshop participants will be exposed. Additionally both Dr. Speckhard and the music teachers/choir directors will complete evaluation forms. We also expect music teachers to report any significant improvement in their Minnesota State High School League performance rating in state contests following the workshops.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Participation met expectations and survey results indicated an increase in knowledge and skill.
