Modern Dance Summer Workshop
Project Details
Minnesota Dance Ensemble will hold a four day summer workshop for ages 12-18 who are avid dancers, August 19-22, 2013 at the Paramount Theatre in St Cloud, 9am-3pm, with the fourth day being longer to include an informal showing of progress made during the week.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

At least 30 dancers participate in the workshop. At least 100 audience members attend the final day informal showing. Minnesota Dance Ensemble's mailing list increases by 10%. At least 75% of students express interest in continuing to learn about modern dance. 95% of student participants will attend the workshop in it's entirety. The informal showing will consist of at least 8 dance pieces.Workshop registration will provide data associated with the number of participants and will also grow the number of contacts on the Minnesota Dance Ensemble mailing list. Tickets will show how many audience members attended the informal showing. Surveys will be used to gather information about how the experience shaped the student dancers and what their interest is in continuing their modern dance education. Attendance will be taken at each class. Documentation of procedures and outcomes will be written by teachers.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendance the day of the event revealed that 23 dancers participated in the workshop. Through the distribution of drawing slips at the informal showing to audience members we found that 31 people attended. Minnesota Dance Ensemble's mailing list increased by 26 because of workshop registration. Through distributed surveys, approximately 91% of students expressed interest in continuing to learn about modern dance. All participants (100%) attended the workshop in its entirety shown through attendance taken in every class throughout the day. The informal showing consisted of five pieces that students learned during the workshop.
