Community Arts Support Grant
ACHF Arts Access
Bemidji Community Theater will provide an opportunity for people to pursue their interests in theater through acting and stagecraft support activities in productions by and for community members. We will also improve our visibility in the community through an upgraded web site and use of newsletters, brochures and other publicity.Bemidji Community Theater will keep a count of how many people participated in each production with a breakdown according to acting and technical areas. Attendance numbers will be kept to determine if audience numbers are rising and our upgraded web site will be able to measure the number of visitors.
Buffalo Community Theatre produced four productions during their season this year with over 3,700 residents from five counties attending, representing a 10% increase over last year’s attendance. These productions provided theatrical opportunities for 120 people to act or support the stagecraft activities. There were 28 youth and 14 adults cast as actors for the first time in a Buffalo Community Theatre production. 270 audience surveys indicated positive responses to the four shows, and the Talk Back sessions had good attendance providing information to audience questions. Anecdotal feedback was gathered from cast and stage crews on their experiences with all positive comments ranging from “improved self-image” to “can’t wait to be in the next show.”
