Arts and Crafts Fair by George!
Project Details
The Saint Cloud Rotary will add an Arts Fair to Summertime by George, a 12-week free concert series at Lake George, Saint Cloud. Weekly crowds of 3000û8000 attended last year. In addition to the artist booths, "human sculptures," demonstrations and interactive community art projects will be featured.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

To bring the community together using the arts as the catalyst and to draw large numbers of residents as well as visitors from outside the St Cloud area to the Art Fair by George resulting in economic benefits for the artists, vendors and area businesses. To increase the propensity of community members to participate in the arts and to offer opportunities to engage residents in the creation of artwork. To collaborate with community business leaders and residents who werenÆt previously arts supporters. To attract and showcase a wide variety of local, regional and stateûwide artists and craft-makers. The venue has the physical capacity for 50 exhibit booths. To enhance the appreciation of fine arts and crafts and increase the sales of original artwork. In addition, the Rotary's goal is to produce an arts and crafts event with broad appeal, positive economic results and a reputation for high-quality that garners artistsÆ and community support, participation and satisfaction.Outcome: To bring the community together using the arts as the catalyst and to draw large numbers of residents as well as visitors from outside the St Cloud area to the Art Fair by George resulting in economic benefits for the artists, vendors and area businesses. Measurement: Attendance figures and vendor sales receipts, numbers of cars in the parking lot and parked on the street will be a quantifiable measures of the desired outcome. A follow-up survey will be given to downtown business owners following the event to find out if business increased or decreased due to the Art Fair. Outcome: To increase the propensity of community members to participate in the arts and to offer opportunities that will engage residents in the creation of artwork. Measurement-Observational: Committee members will observe and note if attendees engage with the performing artists, are interested in watching the craft demonstrations, spend time interacting with the exhibitors and participate in the creation of community art projects. Outcome: To collaborate with community business leaders and residents who werenÆt previously arts supporters. Measurement: The committee will compare a regular list of arts supporters, volunteers and businesses to a list of Art Fair by George participants and identify NEW supporters. Outcome: To attract and showcase a wide variety of local, regional and stateûwide artists and craft-makers. The venue has the physical capacity for 50 exhibit booths. Measurement: We will easily be able to test the CommitteeÆs ability to recruit 50 artists. Outcomes: To enhance the appreciation of fine arts and crafts and increase the sales of original artwork. In addition, the Rotary's goal is to produce an arts and crafts event with broad appeal, positive economic results and a reputation for high-quality that garners artistsÆ and community support, participation and satisfaction. Measurement: We will follow up with exhibitors to survey their satisfaction with the Art Fair, how their sales receipts compared to other events in which they have participated and if they would return as an exhibitor in future years.
