Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Park Rapids Area Community Band plans to purchase an English Horn to complete our musical ensemble, feature professional guest soloist at four concerts, and to build a musical library by purchasing approximately seven pieces of new music. A survey will be given at the two fall concerts during the grant cycle. Audience members will be asked to rate questions about the quality of music provided, the variety of programming, and their appreciation for the solo artists. More than 75% of those completing the survey will rate a four or higher on a five point scale. Band members will be encouraged to share statements heard from members of the audience with board members to document comments beyond those included in the survey.

Measurable Outcome(s)

An English horn was purchased from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. Repairs have been made and the instrument will be used for the first time in the 2013 Spring Concert. Erik Kiesz was a marimba soloist at the May 6, 2012 concert, but unfortunate
