Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Social or human service organizations use arts to help achieve their service goals.

Measurable Outcome(s)

A key service goal for the Jovenes group is to expose participants to a wide range of positive life experiences and in the process help them develop self-esteem, confidence, and connections with others and the community. This grant allowed the group to gain a positive experience with the arts, which was a proposed program outcome. Our service goals for Adult Education are to help participants increase their English speaking skills and confidence. As mentioned under section "A," cognitive and kinetic exercises helped participants build confidence and skills with idioms. In addition, participants gained skills and confidence through reading and writing poetry, as well as studying and attending a play written by the artist-in-residence. Verbal feedback helped us evaluate these activities.
