Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Minnesota artists are able to expand or further develop their artistic abilities through varied learning opportunities. Minnesota artists are able to develop business skills needed to support their professional art work. More Minnesotans are able to engage in or with the work of Minnesota artists.

Measurable Outcome(s)

I designed the HAPPY CAMPERS website according to my vision of the project (a Twin Cities web professional who had limited experience -- and who was eager to expand his practice --was hired to implement the coding, according to my design). Additionally, I learned the basics of lighting, green screen, video, and audio during the production phase of the project (working side by side with a recent graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design film/video program. The success of this outcome is measured by the project's ability to impact the careers of several Minnesota artists, early in their careers, while also providing me with valuable and practical artistic/new-media experience. 2: a. I worked with a local web specialist. Evaluation: Appropriate terms-of-payment and an excellent, functional, final product (i.e. interactive project website) resulted from successful negotiations. b. A temporary studio was needed for the video production of HAPPY CAMPERS. Evaluation: I negotiated a very fair rental of a Kingfield neighborhood two-car garage. c. All video participants signed release forms. d. I approached local businesses and received in-kind" donations -- most importantly, from Pizza Luce (donated over 150 pizza slice vouchers, with which I rewarded participants), Peace Coffee (donated five 1-lb bags of coffee), and Victor's 1959 Café (a $20 gift certificate). Evaluation: received in-kind donations from local businesses that support the arts, and brought awareness to the grant programs of Minnesota State Arts Board."
