Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Minnesota artists are able to expand or further develop their artistic abilities through varied learning opportunities. Minnesota artists are able to develop business skills needed to support their professional art work. More Minnesotans are able to engage in or with the work of Minnesota artists.

Measurable Outcome(s)

1. Developed outdoor painting skills. Greater focus selecting subject matter that enhanced the whole of my body of work. Identified composition as a focal point, recognized the need to edit and hone the gist of the paintings to most clearly communicate this idea. Learned to think of a body of work, rather than individual pieces. I advanced my abilities taking small field study paintings into the studio to produce much larger canvases. 2. I evaluated these achievements based on feedback from the teachers and students whose classes I gave demos, lectures and showings to. 2: 1. Planning a budget for a project, amending it to reflect changing circumstances. Shopping for vendors to better fit the needs and budget of project. Developed persuasive writing skills in pitching different art centers on a proposed exhibit. Small, but not insignificant: developed personal presentation skills in approaching various commercial properties for permission to paint on their grounds. 2. I successfully adjusted my budget when unable to mount an exhibit in the grant period. I stayed within that budget. Feedback from the students, teachers and other artists that comment on the way I handle my art as a business. Exhibiting will manifest the business side more clearly.
