County Fair Legacy Project
A --- Big Ideas Trailer ---- seeing the possibilities and learning about various trades through electronic interaction and one-on-one conversations with instructors.
B --- Doug Traxler and the Hired Hands ---- a very well known local musician specializing in folk ballads and easy listening tunes.
C --- Larry Novotny "The One Man Band" --- long time entertainer for the local area. He is multi-talented and plays many instruments, from old-time music to polka.
A --- Big Ideas Trailer -- this was new to our fair in 2023, and it was extremely popular for ALL visitors, but especially the teen to mid-20's age range. The trailer is "manned" by 4 to 5 instructors to guide people through the electronic operation of the displays, but also to answer any questions that people had. The instructors had an eye to the historic nature of what they were describing and how it fit into the overall Minnesota heritage of agriculture and early logging. On a decent weather day we calculate that up to 400 visitors can stop by.
B -- Doug Traxler -- This tried and true entertainer has been at our fair many times and it always a crowd-pleaser. Our stage for him is in an attractive area full of visitors listening and dancing along to his songs. (We would estimate that there are upwards of 200 people around the area during his show.)
C -- Larry Novotny -- performs under the open-air pavilion before, during (and sometimes after) the Outstanding Senior Citizen/Century Farm program. This program can have 100 to 200 people wandering by to hear Larry, and many of them stay for the actual award program, and then as long as people wander by and request songs, Larry will stay to accommodate them. Always a good entertainer!
