ACHF Arts Access
Goal #1: As a result of this project and the partnership between the Pillsbury Players and the Pillager Fine Arts Program, the theater program will increase the supply of items for set design, costumes, and costume design materials, which will be available to the Pillsbury Players, Pillager School Fine Arts Program, and any groups who access the theater in the future. Goal #2: As a result of the partnership between the Pillsbury Players and the Pillager School Fine Arts Program for this project, students at Pillager Middle School will increase their learning about musical theater and have a positive theatrical experience. Students will be involved in every aspect of the production, including set design and creation, prop creation, and costuming, and will benefit from this support. The opportunity to work with a variety of materials will enhance their experience. Goal #3: As a result of the Pillsbury Players partnership with the Pillager School Fine Arts Program's production of the middle school musical, this project will increase access and engagement of youth and adults of all ages in the community. We hope this opportunity to experience live musical theater will inspire future thespians and open up opportunities for students to see their peers creating costumes, building sets, and participating in running sound, lighting, and cameras in a state-of-the-art venue. As a result of this project, an estimated 300 students and 800 adult community members will experience live musical theater. Evaluation of Goal #1: The procurement and subsequent availability of set and costume materials and supplies, which will all be housed in the CTC Center at the end of the project and available for use for future productions. Evaluation of Goal #2: We will collect data regarding the number of middle school-aged student participants (both on and off stage) in the middle school musical production. Student participants will be asked to complete a short survey to help us understand their experience participating so we can ensure a positive experience for future productions. Evaluation of Goal #3: We will collect attendance counts of school-based and community performances and document this information.
