ACHF Arts Education
This project will jump-start my growth as an art journal artist. I am drawn deeply to creating art and learning how to improve it. I am looking to grow in understanding art journaling as a visual medium and learning about the basic elements of art, such as drawing, color theory, composition, and layout design. More than learning the rubric of art, I want to experience the freedom of expression that this art invites and pushes the artist to engage in. The intuitive nature of art journaling lends itself to discovery and imagination, which are fundamental to how I view the world. I plan to measure my growth by holding to the accountability that this type of grant engenders. Also, I will have conversations with another artist, Kelly Henkels. I will also photograph my journey so that changes are documented with day and time stamps on the photographs. I will measure my growth by noticing the growth from the beginning to the end of the 90-day art journal challenge. I will also describe my observations and feelings about my retirement and developing art skills within the art journal.
