ACHF Arts Access
The intent of Studio Hop is to give the local community exposure to the variety and depth of local art and to give area artists the opportunity to exhibit and talk about their work. We expect the artists to experience growth from the feed-back they receive from the public. We also hope it will be a financial success for them. In addition, we expect the public will have a new appreciation for the arts in our region. Artists have time and space to talk about their work and the process of creating it and visitors don't feel the pressure to ?keep moving? as often happens at an art fair. We want to increase the attendance at this event every year so more people have the chance to connect with our local artists and the artists have another opportunity to grow in their art. We have a prize card participants can have stamped at each studio they visit. The stamped cards make them eligible for one of two $75 gift certificates that can be spent at participating studios. On the card we ask some basic information, and we use this information to give us a count of how many people attend and also how far our reach is. We also ask each studio to keep track of how many people they think attended since not everyone takes a prize card. Artists report their estimate of attendance at their studio at the wrap-up meeting after the event.
