Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The goals of the Minnesota State Old Time Fiddle Championships is to have an appreciative audience of 200; hold our expenses to $9,000; have a total of 25 contestants, with 5 in the non-fiddle category, and 5 new performers; provide the audience with an enjoyable, high quality, live performance; provide the contestants and their accompanists a rewarding performance experience; provide the contestants an opportunity to sharpen their skills by receiving feedback from the three judges; provide an opportunity for fiddlers to network with others and to receive inspiration from others; and certify a MN state champion who will qualify for Nationals in Weiser, Idaho the following June. We will measure the success of our goals by keeping accurate count of our ticket stubs to determine audience size; by informally surveying and observing audience enjoyment; by keeping records of income and expenses and by working with our treasurer and fiscal sponsor's finance manager; by recording contestants, being sure not to count people twice if they enter more than one category; by asking all musicians and volunteers to complete a post-contest survey; by having a follow-up meeting with the volunteers to get feedback; and by certifying a new Minnesota state champion fiddler.
