Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The Watermark Art Center is committed to championing policies and practices that value diversity, foster equity, and empower an accessible and inclusive environment. It is a space for expression and reflection where art can facilitate idea exchange and conversation. My Duluth community of family, friends and other artists may travel to Bemidji Watermark Art Center to view my exhibit perhaps for the first time and experience all that is offered in the areas of visual arts and local community. This may open new doors of exchange for connections to be made for our Duluth area - exhibit ideas, shared educational opportunities, participation in art groups in person or online. Building relationships while sharing the love of art can bring about positive collaborative discussions that can support our Duluth community with ideas for group exhibits, shared instructors, class offerings and more. ; New series of 30-40 2D artworks in variable mediums and sizes will be exhibited professionally in groupings/vignettes for viewers to examine, compare and contrast their cohesiveness as a whole as well as in groupings showcasing specific handling of techniques unique to the medium. How does the body of artwork stand together? How do the groupings enhance and tell a story or evoke a feeling of connection? The series will be colorful, textural and joyful in an abstracted representational style with intent for viewers to interact with the artwork individually or perhaps in a group. I hope to evoke a sense of calmness, rejuvenation and recharging for viewers and perhaps ignite excitement for them to seek and connect with our beloved trees on trails or in parks connecting them either inwardly or socially with other people. Measurable outcomes: # of participants attending Reception in July, # visiting exhibit 3 mo period, feedback social media and guestbook comments, # paintings purchased. I've exhibited my artwork extensively solo as well as in group exhibits. My Resume outlines the large number of projects I've participated in the short time I've been painting. My career background in administration has enabled me to manage my time to successfully create and to collaborate with others. My Resume will speak to my involvement in successful art projects whether creating or coordinating various group art exhibits and delivery and completion of multiple tasks. I always have several projects ongoing and what I've learned along the way is the value of keeping good records online of details i.e. contacts, timelines and photo images. I pay attention to details and adhere to deadlines and work cooperatively and respectfully with art groups and art venues. I will be in close communication with Watermark Art Center staff with all aspects of this project to ensure timely completion and success of the project to the best of my ability. ; An Opening Reception will be held in July and an excellent opportunity to connect with viewers and field questions and share ideas about the artworks. If more than 100 people attend the Opening it will be a successful and lively event. An Artist Statement will be posted which is informative for attendees and often initiates questions and discussions. I'm a good listener and will be open to feedback and suggestions from viewers. I will be receptive to hearing all feedback and suggestions by Watermark staff. Measurable outcomes may be in the form of connections for future exhibits, requests for commissioned paintings, # of paintings sold, invitations to join art groups and share my creativity, social media friend requests or likes from exhibit promo postings and follow up with additional surveys or comments via social media is a valuable assessment strategy.
