As a result of this program, students in grades 6, 7, and 8 will experience an increase in knowledge and awareness of metal in the creation of art using metal in a metalworking residency through learning about metal as an art form, working with metal, and using metal to create a project that expresses themselves through structure and color. Evaluation methods include a written survey administered both before and after the residency to measure an increase both in knowledge of metal use as an art form and expressing oneself and one's culture using metalwork art in grades 6-8 at our school.
