ACHF Arts Access
As a result of this program, community artists of all levels will experience the opportunity for an increased knowledge and experience with specific artistic skillsets learned in a community based environment where they are encouraged to pursue their own unique creativity. These skill sets are provided through access to high quality mentorship in an Open Studio format. Providing ways to build new skills, confidence and connections with other community members. Access to creating art is repeatedly demonstrated in medical studies to support postive mental health outcomes. Loneliness and depression are often experienced at much higher levels in rural areas. By connecting our community through art, we improve mental health outcomes and create a stronger sense of belonging for everyone. Evaluation methods include in studio experience, or post experience, surveys, interviews and feedback/comment box in the studio administered by Create It Art Team Members to measure personal experience, level of satisfaction with experience, additional areas of future interest or instruction. We strive for personal experiences in the Mentorship Program during Open Studio Hours, we are always checking in with artists in the studio to see where they are at in their process, if there is anything they need. Mentors when not engaged directly with a specific artist or group of artists, is often ordering supplies, organizing work areas or offerring coffee/tea from our free on site coffee coop.
