Poorbaugh Building Conditions Assessment
To hire a qualified architect to conduct a conditions assessment of the 1889 Poorbaugh Block, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
$5,982,000 the first year and $7,000,000 the second year are for statewide historic and cultural grants to local, county, regional, or other historical or cultural organizations or for activities to preserve significant historic and cultural resources. Money must be distributed through a competitive grant process. The Minnesota Historical Society must administer the money using established grant mechanisms, with assistance from the advisory committee created under Laws 2009, chapter 172, article 4, section 2, subdivision 4, paragraph (b), item (ii).

We met the short-term target of keeping the community and museum supporters informed about the project. There was not as much newsworthy action as anticipated when writing the grant but the goal was met.
We definitely achieved our intermediate term goal of creating a resource to effectively and responsibly plan future projects because the CAR was written. JAHS now has a comprehensive of next steps and direction as to what needs to be prioritized in the future.
