Cover and several interior pages of Disaster PlanAn objects conservator was hired to review the collections at the Red Lake Tribal Archives. This includes checking their storage conditions, policies, and procedures, and creating a disaster plan.

A solid disaster plan protects important cultural and historical records from potential dangers. It helps manage risks, prepare for emergencies, and supports preservation efforts. This plan is an important investment for the Red Lake Tribal Archives. It ensures that future generations can access vital records and keeps cultural knowledge and traditions alive.

Appropriation Language

$6,451,000 the first year and $7,035,000 the second year are for statewide historic and cultural grants to local, county, regional, or other historical or cultural organizations or for activities to preserve significant historic and cultural resources. Money must be distributed through a competitive grant process. The Minnesota Historical Society must administer the money using established grant mechanisms with assistance from the advisory committee created under Laws 2009, chapter 172, article 4, section 2, subdivision 4, paragraph (b), item (ii).
