BCHS Comprehensive Inventory Phase 5
To provide better organization of the museum collections, allowing for greater public access to the community's historic resources.
$6,451,000 the first year and $7,035,000 the second year are for statewide historic and cultural grants to local, county, regional, or other historical or cultural organizations or for activities to preserve significant historic and cultural resources. Money must be distributed through a competitive grant process. The Minnesota Historical Society must administer the money using established grant mechanisms with assistance from the advisory committee created under Laws 2009, chapter 172, article 4, section 2, subdivision 4, paragraph (b), item (ii).

The project goal is considered to have been met. The project came very close to it's catalog record goal, although Zone 5 was not fully completed. A fairly large number of items without locations (or with incorrect locations) were found in Zone 5. We expected 1550 catalog records, and inventoried 1879 without even completing the zone.
The remaining objects from Zone 5 will have to be inventoried as part of Zone 6 in the next inventory phase, as reflected in the updated phasing plan attached to this report. We now expect to find 1780 objects Zone 6, not including any objects without locations. The object counts for the final volunteer inventory phase were also adjusted to account for the remaining 11 catalog records. Zones 7-9 have not been altered yet, as there are still many artifacts without locations that may be found and will undoubtedly cause further adjustments in the zones after Phase 6.
