Project Overview

A - St. Paul Czech Dancers - they have been at our fair before. They are always a favorite within the Czech ethnic area of this county as well as surrounding counties., B - Larry Novotny "The One-Man Band" - Larry has been entertaining crowds for years. He is multi-talented and plays several instruments. With a love and a skill to play old time music and polka music, he is a crowd pleaser., C - Doug Traxler and the Hired Hands - a very well-known local musician specializing in older folk ballads. He is definitely a hit with the demographics at our fair. , D - Big Ideas Trailer - this mobile unit fills a need to highlight agricultural and other trades. It is an interactive mobile trailer that introduces youth and anyone in the public to trades that have roots in agricultural heritage and are still important in Minnesota today.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

A - Czech Dancers - This performance is held under an open pavilion where people can either sit in bleachers/benches at the actual event, stop and watch for a bit as they stroll on the grounds, or watch from afar. It is estimated that around 75 people are watching at any given time of the performance. This year, the assigned event coordinator will take a count once during the event to capture an accurate number. , B - Larry Novotny - Larry also performs under the open pavilion at our Outstanding Senior Citizen/Century Farm/Farm Family of the Year Event. This is a more static attendance and includes friends and families of the recipients along with other interested community members. Larry usually stays after the event for as long as people are walking by/stopping to visit and listen. Last year's event is estimated to have drawn 100 participants. This year, the assigned event coordinator will take a count once during the event to try and capture an accurate number. , C - Doug Traxler - Doug is our musical performer on Thursday night of the fair. Three 4-H shows happen this day. The talent show and the corn feed occur as well, so there are a lot of people on the grounds. Doug performs near the food and beverage area. It is estimated that 300 people attend this event. This year, event coordinators will do an estimated head count twice during the event and get an average attendance., D - The Big Ideas Trailer's proposed outcome is to have participants visit the trailer and use the interactive simulators. Since it is a controlled environment with door entry and exit an exact count can be obtained. This is our first year offering the event so we don't have an average from previous experience. It is estimated that 400 people will experience this event.
