Arts Learning Grant
Funds will assist Northern Light Opera Company to produce the Workbench New Play Workshop, an 8-day workshop to help local writers in the writing and performance of their own original plays.

As a result of the Workbench New Play Workshop, the playwright participants will experience an increased ability in playwriting through study of dramatic structure, artistic collaboration, and hands-on writing exercises. Evaluation methods include surveys administered before and after the workshop to measure changes in attitude and ability in our playwright participants and guest artists.
As a result of this program, novice playwrights experienced the satisfaction of completing a play script and seeing it come to life at the public reading of the plays.
