Project Details

Funds will assist Mask and Rose Theater to create and implement an ecology themed arts/theater camp for youth on the campus of Belle Thalia Creative Arts Space in August 2023 culminating in a musical performance "To Save the Planet".

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Parents will indicate a 85% rating on a Likert Scale post test ( a pre / post survey test using a Likert Scale of 1-5 with 1 indicating no change to 5 indicating to a great degree ) indicating willingness to have their child take part in similar offering. 85% of parents will indicate a positive experience for their child in knowledge , skill , awareness , and behavioral changes. We will ask parents to interview as well with our artist team and use the pre/ post survey and ancectodal feedback. A pre / post test survey using Likert scale ( 1-5 ) will be used to assess parents' view of their young person's growth in understanding theater skills as well as eological concepts learned . Artist team will also interview parents on the last day for anecdotal feedback .

As a result of this activity children showed showed growth and gain in theater skill acquisition and growth in basic knowledge about how using the arts can be a conduit to teach about ecological concepts. 98% of participants and their parets reported this
