Project Details

Funds will assist in bringing the "Trio of Three Continents" to the Bemidji Concert Series for a residency of multiple masterclasses, workshops and performances on traditional musical instruments from China, Senegal and Venezuela.

As a result of this program, Bemidji community members and Bemidji State University students will gain knowledge, awareness, and appreciation for traditional non-Western instruments and music through performances and workshops. Evaluation methods include a survey administered after the artist residency to demonstrate the knowledge gained about non-Western traditional instruments and music in Bemidji State music students.

As a result of this program, Bemidji community members and Bemidji State University students experienced an increase in knowledge, awareness and appreciate for traditional non-Western instruments and music through the workshop and performance.
