Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

We seek to celebrate and bid farewell to a premier performance space that has served the Iron Range community for over 100 years. In Phase II our measurable outcomes are: 1) The community orchestra, school orchestra, community choruses and school chorus will come together to create a high-quality performance of the commissioned work. 2) The public performance will be attended by a broad cross section of the community and by alumni of Virgina High School who have performed on the Goodman Auditorium stage. We will determine the project is a success 1) if two or more community groups and both high school groups participate in the live performance, 2) if we collect feedback from audience members through a written survey in the printed program, 3) if the surveys returned indicate the quality of the performance is good, 4) if audience members have come from Virginia and beyond, include families and include a large number of VHS alumni, and 5) if we informally observe positive reactions from the performers and audiences during the performance.
