Creative Support for Individuals-Round 2
Continuing her exploration of home and belonging, Cornejo will work with community members and organizations in Red Wing to construct a community quilt based on audio testimonies recorded and embroidered with Red Wing residents.

Laura Helle: An Iowa farm girl by birth, Laura Helle is the Executive Director of Austin Area Arts, Mower County's largest arts organization serving 10,000+ per year with performing, visual, literary, and film arts activities. She earned Bachelor of Fine Arts from Iowa State University in Graphic Design with a minor in Journalism/Mass Communication. Helle is a member of the City of Austin Culture and Arts Commission, City of Austin Human Rights Commission, Apex Austin Diversity Council, and the AAUW. Helle is a visual mixed media artist.; Barry Inman: Inman is currently serving as the artist and audience services manager at Jungle Theater. Additionally, Inman serves as the COVID compliance officer (CCO) for Jungle Theater and has previously served as the CCO for Theater MU along with being a COVID consultant for Moving Theater Company and Theater Latte Da. In his spare time, Inman volunteers front of house for Theater Mu, Theater Latte Da, and Guthrie Theater.; Laura Sivert: Sivert teaches art history at University of Wisconsin, Stout. She has a PhD in art history from Penn State and her focus is on ecological art of the United States. She is currently writing a book on the photography of the Tennessee Valley Authority project. She has volunteered for the Minnesota State Arts Board previously as a grant reviewer.; Alyssa Stormes: Stormes is a multidisciplinary artist with an extensive background in film, theater, music, illustration, and design. She is a full-time freelancer as of 2020, previously serving in communications and development roles in nonprofit organizations. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in film, and maintains working relationships with the MSP Film Society, Hennepin Theatre Trust, Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, and Arts Midwest.

I will work with community members in Red Wing to assemble a community quilt composed of embroidered sentences that reflect on the meaning of home. The quantity and diversity of community participation and by the timely completion of the quilt. The work will be presented to the community at Red Wing Arts and will then travel to other venues throughout Minnesota.
As proposed, throughout the grant period I worked with Red Wing community members to complete a large quilt. The outcome was achieved: sixty people volunteered their time and skills, though many more were involved in a supporting capacity. Additionally, the quilt was completed on time and shown at Red Wing Arts from January through February 2024.
