The NFA's goal is to enhance the film festival experience for filmmakers and audiences; to engage with underserved and rural communities through high quality cinema exhibition; and to support a network of regional and next generation filmmakers through diverse screening options and enriching educational opportunities. NFA's short range goals are to raise awareness of these types of cinema events through promotion, remain financially sound, and to energize arts in the region by presenting unique cinema experiences. The long range goals: 1) Expand the regional artistic community by producing an entertaining and thought-provoking film festivals, provide organizational growth, and raise the profile of films produced regionally. 2) Facilitate education and networking afforded at festival-related events that create year-round interaction between artists, producers, and film-goers and raise the profile as well as the number of regionally produced films. Goal 1. In 2022, NFA festivals deliver a post attendance email survey gauging satisfaction with festival atmosphere, staff professionalism, film quality, and venue quality. One emphasis is discovering if attendance to NFA festivals resulted in a cinematic or artistic experience that was unique or outside of audience members previous experience. In emphasizing this question, we guide future programming that will expand audiences worldview and bring continue to deliver unique cinematic experiences. Goal 2. NFA will continue to expand its off-festival events in order to create year-round interaction with its stakeholders. In 2022, NFA expanded its Horror High Film Camp program to a second, winter session and are seeking funding to expand the program to northern Minnesota in 2023. Success are evaluated by program participation and program outcomes. In 2022 HHFC was full to capacity and successfully produced the short film SHADOW PUPPETS screened at DSFF 22.
