Our overall goal is to provide a unique, powerful artistic offering for students and community members. The project would consist of two main activities to help us meet this goal: 1. About 200 community members?including students, community members, and other engaged individuals?will attend a lecture given by Daniel Benoit. 2. Guest artist Daniel Benoit will conduct a 1-2 day workshop in the winter/spring of 2022 for 40-50 area art, photography, and theater students. In the long term, this residency will continue increasing access to, and interest in, making art to a broader range of our community as a means of enriching and empowering individuals' experiences and encouraging innovation. Several evaluation strategies will be used. Success will be measured in part by participant numbers. Artistic success will be based on the responses of attendees. Participants will complete pre-and post-surveys, including open-ended and quantitative questions (What do you know about digital media? Did this project enhance your understanding of the role digital media plays in the arts'). Outcomes will also be evaluated through interactions with artists, student reflections, and observation of students, and project completion. The project director, Sarah Brokke Erickson, will reflect on the feedback/impact of the program and adjust future programming to better meet the needs of future participants and visiting artists. She will also identify barriers and assess the impact of marketing efforts. The results will be shared with ARAC in the final project report and be used to seek additional funding to continue developing sustainable/attainable arts learning opportunities for the Region.
